SRC Team Building Retreat: Persisting, Adapting, and Transforming at Lillsved
Last week, the Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC) team escaped the city for our annual retreat at the picturesque Lillsved. With 112 participants in tow, including a strong showing from the PHASES team, we set sail (quite literally for some!) for three days of connection, reflection, and inspiration. This year's theme, "Persisting, Adapting, and Transforming," involved many discussions, presentations, and time for self-reflection. We dove into sessions that challenged us to think critically about our work and our role in shaping a resilient future. From co-creating the "10 Must-Knows about Resilience" to exploring how we can organize ourselves to better persist, adapt, and transform, the discussions were lively and insightful.
But it wasn't all serious business. We made sure to sprinkle in plenty of fun:
Evening reflections under the stars
A creative dinner hosted by Amanda and Daniel where PHASES made a strong showing with acts, dances and everything in between
A DJ battle that had us all showing off our best (and worst) dance moves
Self-organized activities that saw people swimming, hiking, and enjoying saunas
As we wrapped up our time together with a mentoring morning and final reflections, we left Lillsved with a stronger sense of shared purpose and fresh ideas to take resilience science into 2024 and beyond. It was also an excellent opportunity to meet and connect with people you don’t often interact with, as the SRC has become a large organisation with record-breaking attendance for the retreat.
Here's to persisting in our mission, adapting to new challenges, and improving our world. Until next year!
